Service Terms

Introduction

These Service Terms explain how my monthly website service works, including pricing, billing, support, additional work, third-party services, and website ownership. By working with Irah Goodwin Web Development, you agree to these terms.

Pricing and VAT

Website plans are offered from £79 per month unless otherwise agreed. I am not currently VAT registered, so VAT is not charged on my services. If this changes in the future, clients will be informed before any VAT is applied.

Billing Start Date

Monthly billing begins once the website has been completed, approved by the client, and made live.

Minimum Term

All monthly website plans are provided on a 12-month minimum term.

What Is Included

The monthly website service is designed to provide an affordable, straightforward way for small businesses to have a professional online presence. This typically includes website hosting, maintenance, ongoing support, and minor content updates.

Unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing, third-party costs such as domain registration, premium plugins, software licences, email sending services, or other paid external services are not included in the monthly website plan.

Monthly Content Changes

Each monthly plan includes up to 1 hour of minor content updates per calendar month. Minor content updates may include things such as updating text, replacing images, changing opening hours, updating contact details, or making similar small amendments to existing content.

Unused monthly update time does not roll over into future months.

Additional Work

Any work that falls outside the included monthly allowance, or goes beyond minor content changes, will be quoted separately and charged at an agreed hourly rate. This may include, for example, additional pages, design changes, new features, larger revisions, or more extensive development work.

In most cases, additional work must be agreed in advance and paid for upfront before the work begins.

Third-Party Services

Websites may rely on third-party services such as hosting providers, domain registrars, email delivery services, form providers, analytics tools, or software licences. These services may be subject to their own terms, pricing, limits, and availability.

Where a website requires a paid third-party plan, service upgrade, or usage beyond the limits of any included or free-tier service, this will be discussed with the client in advance. The client may choose to pay for the required service directly, reimburse the cost, or use an alternative provider where appropriate.

Where possible, third-party accounts should be held in the client’s name. I can assist with setup, configuration, and connection to the website where needed.

Domain Names

A domain name is required for your website and is not included in the monthly website plan unless explicitly agreed otherwise. Domain registration should be purchased in the client’s name. I can assist with domain registration, renewal setup, and connection to the website where needed.

Website Ownership

After the initial 12-month minimum term has been completed, the website is yours to keep, provided all payments due have been made. At that point, you may continue hosting and maintaining the website with me, or move it to another provider if you prefer.

Any third-party licences, subscriptions, or services used as part of the website may need to be transferred, replaced, renewed, or reconfigured separately if the website is moved away from my hosting or maintenance service.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for providing any required content, information, feedback, approvals, and access needed to complete the website and any ongoing updates in a reasonable timeframe.

Cancellations

The monthly service may be cancelled after the initial 12-month minimum term. If you wish to cancel after this period, at least 14 days’ notice should be provided before the next billing date.

All website plans are provided on a 12-month minimum term. If you decide to cancel before the end of that term, the remaining balance for the agreed 12-month period will still need to be paid. Until that balance has been paid in full, the website, files, and related deliverables will remain under my ownership and access or service may be suspended. Ownership of the website will only pass to you once all payments due under the initial term have been received.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these Service Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service or business operations. The latest version will always be available on this website.
